The samurai were the elite warrior class of fedual Japan. They were the fiercest, bravest and most ruthless warriors the world has ever known. Samurai means in Japanese “one who serves” and they lived life by following a code of loyalty, obedience, honor, bravery, and frugality called Bushido (the way of the warrior). They were indifferent to pleasure or pain, and preferred death to shame and disgrace. Life and death had no difference to them, they considered both equally natural. Samurai would without hesitation do anything, even die, that their daimyo (fedual lord) ordered.
